Your cruise ship is docked at Civitavecchia and you want an excursion tour? A tour that shows you all of Rome in one day?

Not only can it be done.... it's one of my favorite tours.

I'll make sure that you see all of "postcard Rome" during the day, and still have time for shopping and eating.

We'll start with ancient Rome, and with tickets purchased in advance we will skip the lines and maximize our time, going inside the Coliseum, Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill.

From there we'll walk through the heart of the city (the "wedding cake" building, Navona Square, Campo di Fiori, Piazza Farnese) and finish the morning part of the tour near the Pantheon, a perfect place to sit down for a quick trattoria lunch.

The afternoon the focus will be on Vatican City. We'll enter one of the most incredible spaces ever decorated -- the Sistine Chapel -- and see the very best highlights of the Vatican museums.

We'll finish the day with a visit to St Peter's Basilica, and we'll say goodbye in St Peter's Square.

I've done this tour dozens of times, and I have the timing down perfectly. You won't waste a minute waiting in lines to buy tickets, so the tour will feel very relaxed. You're on vacation, after all, and this is supposed to be fun!

I will give you plenty of time for asking questions, taking photos, shopping etc, and you won't feel rushed at all.

Note:
Many of my clients prefer to take the train from the port and have me meet them at the train station in Rome (and not risk getting stuck in traffic; the port is often more than an hour's drive into Rome).
